Relocating

Moving to a new city can be a daunting process, but it doesn’t have to be difficult! At Thor, our induction process starts from the day you sign your offer letter and we are on hand to help with your move to London as much as we can.

FIND YOUR ACCOMMODATION

The first thing to consider is finding somewhere to live; as the office is central and within walking distance of four tube stations and two National Rail stations, choosing an area could not be easier. We can offer advice on good places to live and point you in the right direction for finding flatmates

BANK ACCOUNTS & NATIONAL INSURANCE

We are well versed in the many pieces of paperwork needed for opening bank accounts and advise that those looking to work in London organise their National Insurance interview for the first possible opportunity as they can take a few weeks to come through.

STUDENT LOANS

We recognise that every country has a different student loan repayment process; in particular Norwegians have a huge burden to bear when paying their student loans back. We work closely with our consultants to find the best way that we can support you on this to ease the pressure.

COMMUTE & TRAINING

Your first week with the company is full of training with loads to take in so you will work slightly shorter hours which will also give you the chance to get to know your commute and see a bit of London.

STAY POSITIVE

Moving to a new city is an incredibly positive and exciting adventure – enjoy it!

Moving from Gothenburg to London and joining Thor Companies was probably one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Not only do I get to live in the best city in Europe, I also get to be a part of the loving family Thor is. Being a small town girl it can be rather tough in the big city but I find that my directors and colleagues always have my back, they’re all very helpful and for that, I am immensely thankful.
