Project Manager – Pipeline Civil Engineering & Construction, Planning & Development

Hydrogen is used to decarbonise difficult to abate sectors, as well as to redraw the energy landscape of Europe with new clean energy supply and energy independence.

 

Nordion Energi’s goal is to support, expand and accelerate the role of hydrogen in the economy by creating a new hydrogen transmission network across Sweden and the Baltic and Nordic regions, connecting producers and consumers of hydrogen. Today, Nordion Energi is powering a changing society by making green energy accessible, helping many of our customers transition to low-carbon biogas for their energy needs. And from here, our new Hydrogen Business unit is developing some of Europe’s most important hydrogen infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

 

Main tasks:

  • Management of planning and development of very large hydrogen infrastructure projects with focus on safety & environment, function, time and cost, to deliver on agreed objectives.

  • Lead technical feasibility studies for hydrogen projects with focus on the planning and project development in the area of civil engineering, including work breakdown studies, resource planning, time plans, cost estimation, engineering work up until delivery of a full set of documentation for procurement, erection and installation.

  • Preparation of land owner inventory and management plan for land owner stakeholders

  • Work according to the project execution strategy/process, project portfolio management and PMO function, to support and report on the progress and development.

  • Ensure the necessary resources within the project, through a balanced composition of internal resources, resources from strategic partners and consultants.

  • To participate in the overall development of the hydrogen business within business- and project development.

  • To assist in the area of risk management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Having budget responsibility for the planning and development phase which means following up and reporting on status, deviations and forecast.

  • To actively contribute to goal fulfilment for the department and company.

  • Performing work according to current legislation, established procedures and policies.

  • That the values are a natural part of the business.

 

Authorities:

The senior project manager has the following authorities:

  • Financial powers for decisions and purchases according to the directives of the agreed and approved budget.
  • Powers according to personally received delegation or authorization.
  • Authority to stop work in case of serious safety risks, or in case of serious risk to the environment/work environment and if the work violates the company's governing documents.
  • Supervise assigned staff and allocate staff resources between different jobs including ordering overtime.

 

 

Competence

The following competencies are considered prerequisites to be able to carry out the above:

 Education

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar

  • BAS-P

  • PMP or IPMA certification is an advantage

  • Broad technical knowledge base in the areas of infrastructure planning/construction, GIS, geotechnical, underground installations.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of successful responsibility for planning and development of major investment projects (>100 M€)

  • Experience from Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, Oil & Gas and/or Process Industry. Hydrogen project experience is of considerable advantage.

  • Experience in budget responsibility, change- and contract management

  • International experience with stakeholder management

  • Ownership with high level of integrity

  • Strong drive and ability to deliver results in line with set targets incl. excellent safety performance

  • Contacts/cooperation both within and outside the company place great demands on empathic ability and the ability to communicate.

  • Creative and analytical ability, ability to think outside the box.

  • English in speech and writing
