Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Engineering Manager to lead the growth and scaling of our engineering function. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on engineering oversight to expand our multidisciplinary design capability across mechanical, structural, civil, and electrical disciplines.
You will play a critical role in building high-performing teams, improving engineering processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, scalable product solutions aligned with business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the engineering strategy to support company growth and market expansion
- Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across key design functions
- Drive scalability of engineering processes, systems, and standards
- Oversee end-to-end product development from concept through to delivery and deployment
- Ensure all engineering outputs meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with commercial, operations, and manufacturing teams to align engineering with business objectives
- Implement best practices in design, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and project prioritization
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track team and project success
- Identify and integrate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance capability
- Support business development activities through technical input and client engagement
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related discipline) (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Significant experience in engineering leadership within industrial construction, infrastructure, or heavy engineering sectors
- Proven track record of scaling engineering teams or functions in a growing business
- Strong multidisciplinary engineering knowledge
- Experience delivering complex engineered products or systems
- Commercial awareness with the ability to align engineering decisions to business outcomes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with CAD and engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD, etc.)
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
