Overview:
A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Automation Engineer to support the delivery of complex, high-performance projects across mission-critical and commercial environments.
This role sits within a multidisciplinary team and focuses on the design, integration, and optimisation of building automation systems, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and system interoperability.
You will play a key role in bridging engineering design and real-world system performance, working closely with project teams, clients, and specialist contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify Building Management Systems (BMS) / Building Automation (GA) for large-scale projects
- Develop system architectures, control strategies, and sequences of operation
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and IT disciplines to ensure fully integrated solutions
- Support system integration, interoperability, and open protocol implementation (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, KNX)
- Review technical submissions, drawings, and vendor designs
- Contribute to commissioning, testing, and performance validation
- Provide technical input across design, delivery, and handover phases
- Engage with clients to ensure systems meet operational and performance requirements
Requirements:
- Strong experience in building automation / BMS engineering within complex environments
- Proven track record in system design, integration, and delivery
- Experience with open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX (others advantageous)
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems and their interaction with BMS
- Experience working on large-scale or mission-critical projects (data centres highly desirable)
- Ability to work across both design and delivery phases
- Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
