If you’ve ever been around a group of Thorites, you might have heard us chanting in Unison “Thor on Tour! Thor on Tour!” – a call letting you know that Thor is coming to your city and we’re taking over.
Thor Companies took our New York branch to Killington, VT for three days of snow, fun, and company bonding. This being my first Tour with Thor, I was a little nervous to step out of the office setting and into a more relaxed world with my coworkers. However, as I settled in and got into the groove of things, I found myself relaxing and opening up to my coworkers.
The weekend started on Friday with a day of skiing - a sport that threw me out of my comfort zone and onto the slopes. It was so much fun challenging myself and learning alongside my coworkers the dangers of the bunny hill. And for those of us who weren’t the best skiers on the first day, accommodations were made on Saturday for a snowmobile tour through on of Killington’s snowcapped mountains.
After either spending the day battering our bodies on the slopes or the traveling on snowmobiles, we could come back and relax at our ski lodge equipped with a hot tub, sauna, and fireplace, allowing us to try and repair our bodies for the nights to come.
Thor really knows how to take care of its family. From a night out at a steakhouse, with dishes like grilled squid or steak the size of my forearm, to drinks at the local bars with live music, our team was not only able to eat well and be merry, but also get to connect in deeper ways.
The biggest thing that I appreciated on my Tour with Thor, is how much each team member took the time to hang out, really get to know each other, and support each other on and off the slopes, just like we do in the office on and off the phones. Our directors ensured we had the best time possible, and we were there to fully take advantage of it.
With more trips coming up as 2022 flies by, I can’t wait for my next opportunity to let the world know that Thor is on Tour!
