In our weekly blog series, we sit down each week with a different Thorite to get to know the people behind the scenes at Thor. From their career journeys to personal stories, this series will give you an inside look at the individuals who make our team so unique. This week, we have Charlotte White, one of our Talent Acquisition Specialists.
I work in Talent Acquisition, where I focus on helping hire the best people to join our team. It’s incredibly rewarding to connect with candidates who share our values and contribute to our dynamic work culture.
I’m especially proud of seeing our consultants thrive in their roles. For instance, Jack Walsh recently achieved recognition as one of our top performers, earning a spot on the Achievers Trip and significantly boosting his earnings. Watching his growth and success is a testament to the supportive environment we have created at Thor.
To succeed in Talent Acquisition, three skills stand out: resilience, relationship building, and great communication. Resilience is crucial for navigating the ups and downs of recruitment. Building strong relationships helps me connect with candidates and understand their motivations. Finally, excellent communication ensures that I effectively convey our company’s vision and values to potential hires.
One key lesson I’ve learned is that tough times are inevitable, but how we handle them defines our success. It's essential to ride out the challenges and remain focused on long-term goals. Learning to cope with rejection is part of the process, and it has made me stronger in my role.
As a child, I wanted to work with animals, perhaps for the RSPCA, where I could give them all my love and help them find caring homes. My passion for animals has always been a significant part of who I am.
Skydiving is on my bucket list. I think it would be an exciting way to step out of my comfort zone.
I would love to have dinner with relatives I've never met. Learning more about my family history and the stories that shaped them would be incredibly meaningful to me.
A skill I'd love to master would be to speak another language. I believe it opens up new cultures and opportunities for connection, which I value deeply.
A surprising fact about me is that I can recite the alphabet backward! It’s a fun party trick that always catches people off guard.
We hope you enjoyed this glimpse into Charlotte's journey as much as we did!
