In our weekly blog series, we sit down each week with a different Thorite to get to know the people behind the scenes at Thor. From their career journeys to personal stories, this series will give you an inside look at the individuals who make our team so unique. This week, we have Elliot Wraight, a Recruitment Consultant in our Teknologi team.

1. What do you do at Thor?

I am a Recruitment Consultant for our Teknologi team, focusing on SAP roles.

2. What’s a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?

I’m currently recruiting for a global organisation expanding its SAP team to support an S/4HANA transformation. This large-scale initiative is aimed at modernising their ERP systems globally, and I’m connecting skilled SAP professionals to exciting roles in this transformative project.

3. What three skills are essential for success in your role?

Resilience, passion, and determination are absolutely essential for success in my role. Resilience helps me navigate challenges and adapt to shifting priorities, passion fuels my drive to connect the right people with the right opportunities, and determination keeps me focused on delivering results, even in a competitive environment.

4. What’s the most valuable piece of advice you've received, in your career so far?

Use up all of your connections each week. It’s a reminder to consistently network, reach out, and build relationships, as success in recruitment often comes from maximising those touchpoints and staying proactive.

5. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A pirate!

6. What’s one thing on your bucket list?

I'd love to one day climb Mount Everest.

7. If you could have dinner with any person, past or present, who would it be and why?

It would be Richard Winters, the legendary leader from Band of Brothers. His leadership during World War II is inspiring, and I imagine he’d have incredible stories to share.

8. If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?

It would be padel. It’s such a fun and fast-growing sport, and mastering it would make games both more competitive and enjoyable!

9. What’s a surprising fact about you?

I cracked my head open when I was on holiday in Bultins.

We hope you enjoyed this glimpse into Elliot's journey as much as we did!
