To celebrate our employee's 3-year anniversary at Thor, our team members are given a Thor Passport. This gives them the opportunity to work from any of our offices for a week plus a £1000 contribution to cover the cost of travel and accommodation. Below, we caught up with Malin to hear about some of her highlights from her trip!
Malin Rudolfsson Fransson recently used her Thor Passport to visit our offices in NYC for her 3-year anniversary with us. She is an essential member of our Client Partnerships team, responsible for enhancing our client portfolio and ensuring a high level of excellence in every project we deliver to our partners.
What were your expectations before the trip?
I was really excited to observe how they work in our New York office and see how we can exchange knowledge. Going to NYC is always an exciting experience, and it's great to get the opprortunity to explore it like a local.
What was your overall experience during the visit?
I had a great experience visiting the NYC office. It provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in a different professional environment and culture. It was wonderful to see everyone again and exchange knowledge and experiences. In addition to the professional interactions, the visit allowed me to explore the city, enjoy some delicious food, and experience some of its most impressive landmarks. I also had the opportunity to meet with our global partners at their offices which was a great experience - I'm extremely grateful for the chance to go, and I want to thank Thor for making it possible!
What were the highlights of your week?
The highlight was definitely being a part of our NYC team's day-to-day activities and soaking in the office atmosphere. I also hosted a strategy session, where we interacted and discussed how we can enhance our partnerships to ensure we are providing the best recruitment services to our clients globally. And of course, the social aspect, going out for drinks with the team and socialising adds some fun to the experience.
I would sum up this trip in 3 words - Definitely Going Back
What were your first impressions of the team in the other office and can you share any memorable interactions or bonding moments you had together?
Everyone was incredibly welcoming and took the time to show me around the office and recommend some great lunch spots. They were so friendly and made me feel like part of the team in no time. After work, we headed to a lovely rooftop for some drinks and then enjoyed a game of shuffleboard.
Did your visit contribute to any specific business achievements or insights?
I met with a couple of people from my European client portfolio, and our discussions have started some exciting conversations about how we can collaborate in the United States. Additionally, I've been connecting and networking with new exciting partners to explore how we can support their growth.
Did you encounter any unique practices or approaches they do differently in the office you visited that you could implement in your own work?
One of the things I really enjoy is how they all come together on a Monday morning, sharing their successes and celebrating those who have performed exceptionally well. It's a great way to start the week and kick it off as a team!
Did you explore the local area or engage in team-building activities?
The area our NYC office is located in is amazing and has so much to offer - I love the variety of lunch options available. On the final day of my trip, we headed out and ate some of the famous pizza slices and enjoyed a beer, which made me feel like a true New Yorker.
