Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our project team on a rotational assignment, working primarily from the Oslo office of the General Contractor. The role represents the contractor on a flagship data centre project in Northern Norway and involves overseeing and coordinating the electrical discipline within a multi-disciplinary design team.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, design oversight, and coordination across all electrical systems, ensuring delivery of a resilient, high-quality design aligned with data centre best practice, project requirements, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Senior Electrical Engineer for the project, overseeing electrical design development from concept through detailed design and construction support
- Coordinate and lead the electrical discipline within a multi-disciplinary design team, ensuring effective integration with civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, ICT, and specialist systems
- Work closely with designers, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders from the Oslo office
- Represent the General Contractor in technical meetings, design reviews, and client-facing workshops
- Review, challenge, and approve electrical designs, specifications, calculations, and drawings
- Ensure compliance with Norwegian regulations, relevant international standards (IEC, EN), and data centre-specific requirements
- Lead technical reviews relating to HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, earthing, bonding, and lightning protection
- Support procurement activities, including preparation of technical scopes, bid evaluations, and supplier engagement
- Provide technical input during construction, commissioning, and handover, including periodic site visits to Northern Norway
- Identify technical risks and opportunities, contributing to value engineering and programme optimisation
- Monitor design quality, coordination, and progress against project milestones
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc) or equivalent
- Typically 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in complex, mission-critical or data centre projects
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical design and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of data centre power systems and resilience strategies
- Experience working with or for general contractors is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Norwegian codes and standards is advantageous
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional accreditation is a plus

- Fluent in English; Norwegian language skills are an advantage
